With an investment of over 4 million yuan, Huairou Museum is reconstructed based on the old library, covering an area of over 2,000 m2. It can accommodate an audience of over 100, exhibiting over 300 precious cultural objects and over 130 real objects of intangible cultural heritage from ancient times to the founding of the People’s Republic of China, with over 300 pictures and 30 thousand words of captions. The exhibition area is divided into two stories and the cultural objects are displayed in succession according to the history of Huairou’s development. The cultural objects from ancient times to the Yuan Dynasty are displayed on the second floor while cultural objects and intangible cultural heritage from the Ming Dynasty to the period of revolutionary wars are exhibited on the third floor. This museum manifests Huairou’s profound history and splendid culture. Its history is represented in the cultural objects, highlighting the merging of Central Plain cultures with nomadic cultures in harmonious development in Huairou District in different ages. The museum also reflects the distinct geographical features of times. Aside from the rich contents in the museum, it gives equal attention to predominant emphasis and distinct features. In terms of structural configuration and object exhibition, it accentuates the features of Huairou culture, emphasizing on the introduction of key exhibits in an attempt to make breakthroughs and extensions in deepness and broadness. At the same time, the exhibition adopts the advanced sonic, optical and electric technology, giving the public an altogether new visual effect that features richness and vividness. The museum is supposed to become a key position which manifests Huairou’s profound history, carries forward the splendid national cultures and educates the teenagers to love their homeland.
